1:1 Peer Support
We are looking for people, who have lived experience (personal or professional) supporting an individual through MAiD, to provide peer-to-peer support to individuals choosing MAiD.

Volunteers must:

Be at least one (1) year after their family/friend had an assisted death
-
Have demonstrated knowledge of MAiD in Canada and an appreciation of concepts of health equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as personal autonomy
-
Have excellent listening and interpersonal skills are required
-
Maintain clear boundaries around grief and can describe what that means for them personally
An interview is required for suitability for the role​.
​
Previous experience working as a support provider in a health care environment is helpful, but not required.
Level of involvement is at your discretion and can be discussed with the coordinators

Time commitment varies (one hour/month to one hour/week)

Coordinator and facilitator work together to determine timing and frequency of your involvement

Training and follow up with coordinators to be provided

Drop-In Session and
10-Week Grief Support Group Facilitators
We are looking for people who have lived experienced (personal or professional) supporting an individual through MAiD to facilitate drop-in grief group sessions and/or 10-week structured grief support groups.

Volunteers must:

Be at least one (1) year after their family/friend had an assisted death

Have demonstrated knowledge of MAiD in Canada and an appreciation of concepts of health equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as personal autonomy

Have excellent listening and interpersonal skills are required

Community Liaison
We are looking for people to assist with providing information on MAiD and the wok of Bridge C-14.
​
Volunteers will:

Network with organizations, institutions and groups in their communities to share about MAiD and the work of Bridge C-14

Distribute Bridge C-14 Postcards and Information Flyers

Give presentations/ workshops (content provided)
An interview is required for suitability for the role​.
Level of involvement is at your discretion and can be discussed with the coordinators

Time commitment varies (one hour/month to one hour/week)

Coordinator and facilitator work together to determine timing and frequency of your involvement

Training, including presentation outlines, and follow up with coordinators is provided

We are looking for people who have experience with MAiD to participate in our podcast episodes or to contribute to our blog posts.

An interview or discussion about your participation is required in advance

Participants choose the topic that they wish to discuss for the podcast or submit for a blog post

Reviewed and agreed upon with moderator in advance

Scheduling of the podcast and/or release of the blog post is determined by participant and moderator
-
Time commitment for podcasts is typically 1-3 hours (includes meeting with moderator in advance and recording of podcast)

Podcast can be done over the phone or via Zoom

Blog contributions can be sent by email or Word document
-
Participants can choose to participate anonymously (any identifying information will be removed prior to uploading to the website)
